Startup CPG Newswire:
The Open Food Company Appoints Industry Veterans to Strategic Leadership Team As Company Opens Seed Round

PRESS RELEASE — NEWS PROVIDED BY Julie Ceresnie for Harry’s Famous Sauce

LOS ANGELES, CA (2026) — The Open Food Company, the first open-source consumer packaged goods holding company, today announced the appointment of Jonathan Clark as Fractional Chief Financial Officer and Matthew Langille as Creative Strategic Advisor, as the company opens a $3 million seed round to scale its radically transparent business model. These appointments follow strong retail performance with its debut brand, Harry’s Famous Sauce, which secured retail distribution in Gelson’s Supermarkets in November 2025 after a year of successful DTC testing. Co-founded by actor and entrepreneur Harry Hamlin and Chef Renée Guilbault, The Open Food Company challenges traditional food industry secrecy by publishing every recipe, disclosing ingredients and nutritional analyses, and committing 50% of net profits to fighting hunger.

“Jonathan’s track record scaling purpose-driven brands from early growth through acquisition is exactly what we need in this next phase,” said Guilbault, Co-Founder and CEO. “His experience navigating the intersection of mission and profit – proving they can coexist- makes him an ideal partner as we demonstrate that radical transparency isn’t just ethical, it’s a competitive advantage.”

Clark served as CFO of CAVA Group, where he prepared the company for its eventual IPO and oversaw financial operations through a period of rapid expansion. Prior to that, he spent over a decade as CFO of Honest Tea, helping lead the company through significant growth and its acquisition by The Coca-Cola Company. At The Open Food Company, he will guide financial strategy, seed fundraising, and omnichannel expansion as the company prepares to launch additional brands under its open-source platform to adjacent categories including marinades, dressings, and spices before expanding into fresh and frozen foods.

Langille brings over two decades of experience creating culturally resonant collaborations using his signature whimsical illustrations and pattern work for brands, including Poppi, Grillo’s Pickles, Swatch, and Bloomingdale’s. Now as Creative Strategic Advisor he will support Harry’s Famous Sauce by providing creative direction and counsel on collaborations, partnerships, and activations.

“Matthew has a rare knack for turning brand values into stories,” said Guilbault. “As we take Harry’s Famous Sauce national, his creative direction will be the heartbeat of our portfolio. He’ll ensure our brand always feels like ‘us’ and is instantly recognizable and rooted in the joy and comfort of sharing delicious food with people you love.”
