Startup CPG Newswire:
Startup CPG Announces “Grocery Run” in Partnership with Retailers Across the U.S.

PRESS RELEASE — NEWS PROVIDED BY Startup CPG

NEW YORK, NY (DECEMBER 2024)Startup CPG is excited to unveil their newest project: Grocery Run. Grocery Run is a novel event series bringing together retailers and brands across the U.S. Making stops in dozens of cities, Startup CPG will host fireside chats with top retail buyers, helping new and emerging brands learn about how to get on (and off) store shelves, while providing unique opportunities for brands to sample their products at the events.

Grocery Run kicks off February 5th in Austin, TX with Whole Foods Market. This stop on the Grocery Run tour will feature specialized programming for female brand founders via Startup CPG’s initiative, Further. In addition to a buyer panel for female CPG founders hosted at the epic SXSW office, select brands will also have the opportunity to sample for the entire Whole Foods Market HQ as part of a female founder supplier showcase. Subsequent events are already planned in New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Chicago, Boston, Atlanta, Seattle, with more in the works.

Startup CPG recruits retailers to join for its in-person events, which have become powerful platforms for brands to get their products on shelves and in online marketplaces.

BARIS met a Thrive Market buyer and landed a spot in their marketplace after networking at one of Startup CPG’s events during Fancy Food. “We were accepted into Thrive Market 100% because of Startup CPG”, said founder Marcos Della Pia.

“I demoed Seed & Shell at a Startup CPG event and met Glenn from Fairway Market. The next day, I got into his stores.” shared founder Denise Jane.

North Carolina-based baked goods brand, Eleven Eleven Bakery got their brand on shelves at their local Earth Fare store after attending local Startup CPG meetups. “After three networking meetings, we were able to get our bread into a local Earth Fare store here in Charlotte!”, said founder Sussa Goin.

Startup CPG’s relationship with retailers grows stronger after each event due to the curation of brands brought forth to events and networking opportunities.

“Working with Startup CPG has been invaluable for Earth Fare. Their events, from trade shows to local chapter gatherings, are always an incredibly fun and lively opportunity to discover innovative and upcoming brands. Their parties, meetups, and more not only help us stay ahead in curating emerging brands but also align perfectly with our goal of bringing fresh, exciting products to our shelves. Startup CPG truly helps us champion the next wave of standout brands.”, shared Jaden McTaggart, Director of Center Store Perishable & Specialty at Earth Fare.

“This past year working with Startup CPG has been incredibly beneficial for us. The events have allowed us to discover and connect with a variety of exciting new brands, such as Drybox, which we first encountered at one of their social events,” shared Glenn Cunningham, Director of Center Store, Village Supermarkets Inc. (Fairway Market, Gourmet Garage, ShopRite). “The relationships we’ve built here have led to significant distribution deals, enabling us to bring innovative products to our shelves first to market. This not only enhances our product range but also helps us meet the dynamic needs of our customers and achieve our business goals. We are looking forward to 2025.”

The Grocery Run series will be hosted by the Startup CPG team including founder, Daniel Scharff, who shared “We love in-person events more than anything – there’s nothing like it. The chance to pitch, network, and learn – there’s nothing like meeting the most relevant retailers in your region, face-to-face.”
