Kekoa Foods Donates Thousands of Nutritious Baby Food Pouches to Children in Need across the Country Through Baby2baby
PRESS RELEASE — NEWS PROVIDED BY Danny Auld for Kekoa Foods
West Orange, NJ (2024) – Kekoa Foods is embracing the spirit of giving through its continued support with Baby2Baby, a national nonprofit dedicated to supporting children in underserved communities.
Aligned with Kekoa Foods’ mission to provide healthy, nourishing meals for all children, the collaboration ensures vulnerable families receive the essentials they need.
As part of this shared commitment, Kekoa Foods recently donated over 32,000 pouches of its organic, nutrient-dense baby food purees—valued at $100,000—to help bring health and hope to children across the country.
These include organizations based in California, Texas, Washington, DC, Florida, and Maine.
“Given how well our goals align with Baby2Baby, we are thrilled to collaborate with them to ensure that our most vulnerable populations in the U.S. have access to nutritious, palate-expanding pureed pouch products,” said Danny Auld, PhD, Co-Founder & President of Education & Research, Kekoa Foods.
“Our previous donation to Baby2Baby supports their goal of providing essential items to children in underserved communities, and we’re looking forward to continuing to do so in 2025,” he continued. “This initiative aligns with Kekoa Foods’ mission to drive education and support the equitable distribution of wholesome food to all children in the United States. It also enables us to extend our reach and positively impact families nationwide. Thank you to the Baby2Baby team for joining us in the fight against food insecurity!”
Kekoa’s donation of food pouches is making an impact on families and children Baby2Baby serve across the country who are experiencing food insecurity. Baby2Baby has distributed Kekoa food items across rural communities to children in the foster care system as well as to early childhood education centers to ensure that children have access to healthy meals.
“For the past 13 years, we have seen hardworking parents who are forced to make impossible choices on a daily basis between buying diapers or feeding their children, and this devastating need has only worsened with rising inflation,” said Baby2Baby Co-CEOs Kelly Sawyer Patricof and Norah Weinstein. “We are incredibly grateful for Kekoa’s donation of tens of thousands of food pouches that Baby2Baby will distribute to children living in poverty across the country.”
Kekoa’s donations are helping families facing food insecurity, with Baby2Baby distributing these items in rural areas and early childhood education centers. For more on Kekoa Foods and Baby2Baby’s initiatives, visit www.kekoafoods.com and www.baby2baby.org.
About Kekoa Foods
Kekoa Foods was founded by two fathers dedicated to healthy eating and family inclusion. Named after their son Kekoa, meaning “brave warrior” in Hawaiian, the brand originated from their desire to create nutrient-rich meals using natural ingredients for his healthy development after a premature birth.
As the only LGBTQ-certified baby food brand owned by two gay dads, Kekoa Foods promotes inclusivity and diversity. They introduced the Taste Training™ program, which focuses on intentionally introducing healthy foods during the critical first 1,000 days of an infant’s development, helping shape young palates and fostering healthier eating habits.
