PRESS RELEASE — NEWS PROVIDED BY Startup CPG Team

LOS ANGELES, Calif., May 14, 2024 Startup CPG, the largest community of CPG brands across the country, continues to deliver on its commitment of “doing big things for the small guys” with its latest launch of the Startup CPG Newswire, in partnership with full-funnel CPG PR firm, Maven Consulting.

The no-cost service gives brands the opportunity to submit press releases on their timely news, to be reviewed by the Startup CPG editorial team and published on its site with a link for brands to share, as well as provide opportunities for the news to make its way into other high-reaching media platforms/channels, such as Startup CPG’s email and podcast.

“At Startup CPG, our mission is to help emerging brands as much as possible – so creating a high-quality news platform to share their achievements and growth milestones with the world was a no-brainer for us,” says Daniel Scharff, Startup CPG Founder & CEO. “We’re thrilled to launch this platform not only for brands and CPG lovers, but to serve as the go-to resource for industry press and buyers to read about the most cutting-edge brands disrupting their categories.”

In an intentional effort to ensure the integrity and quality of its new offering, Startup CPG has partnered with Maven Consulting, a full-funnel PR firm specializing in food, beverage and wellness CPG brands. Led by Founder and Chief Maven Jess Windell, Maven will provide a comprehensive resource guide for brands utilizing the Newswire with video tutorials and real-world examples brands can use as tools in the news-sharing process.

“Having worked on both the agency and brand side, I’m all-too familiar with the perception of PR in the startup community as a ‘necessary evil to avoid until you can’t hold out anymore.’ And that is precisely why Maven exists: To help CPG brands navigate PR with as few missteps as possible,” said Windell. “Partnering with Startup CPG on launching the Newswire and providing ongoing support for its use, alongside the launch of Maven’s new DIY PR toolkit Catalyst, is incredibly exciting. Resources like these not only give brands a voice but can be the first step in helping them to become household names.”

The press release guidelines cover industries like food, beverage, health and beauty, supplements, pet, and alcohol, accepting news announcements, such as distribution gains, new product launches, fundraising announcements, new hires, shutdowns, acquisitions, and major partnerships.

“We are so excited to offer this service to emerging brands, and want the process to be as seamless as possible for all parties,” shares Grace Kennedy, Startup CPG Editor. “Given this is a self-serve platform, it’s imperative that brands uphold the editorial integrity and read our guidelines closely, only submitting content that is ready to be published and as free from errors as possible.”

Press releases must be submitted by a CPG brand and should maintain an objective tone, avoid first-person direct address and hype flags, and ensure proper spelling and grammar. Content that will be not approved for publication includes: Aanything that is not timely or newsworthy, including though not limited to job listings, website re-designs, gift guides, appliance and/or merch announcements, or hiring an agency partner.
