Startup CPG Newswire:
Petite Palates Launches Savory, High-Protein Baby Meals, Expands National Availability

PRESS RELEASE — NEWS PROVIDED BY Andrew Stephens for Petite Palates

NEW YORK, NY (JUNE 2025)Petite Palates, a women- and minority-owned baby food brand, has introduced two new shelf-stable, savory meals for infants: Lentils with Spinach and Chickpeas with Greens. These plant-based, protein- and fiber-rich options offer a unique alternative to the traditionally sweet, fruit-dominant products in the baby food aisle.

Developed by a team of parents, and nutrition experts, Petite Palates is focused on supporting early flavor development through vegetable-forward, globally inspired recipes. The brand’s new product line draws on South Asian and Mediterranean culinary traditions to introduce babies to diverse, real-food ingredients such as turmeric, chickpeas, spinach, and lentils.

“With these meals, we’re giving babies access to the same nutrient-dense ingredients adults eat—without added sugar or unnecessary fillers,” said Co-Founder Amrita Vijay.

Each 4 oz. meal contains 4–6 grams of protein and 3–4 grams of fiber, plus 25% of a baby’s daily iron needs. Products are shelf-stable for up to 18-months and made from all-natural, non-GMO ingredients with no added preservatives.

The launch coincides with Petite Palates’ entry into select independent retailers and natural grocers across the Northeast and West Coast, in addition to ongoing direct-to-consumer availability at www.petitepalates.com.

According to a 2024 report by IBISWorld, the U.S. organic baby food market reached $1.58 billion and is projected to continue growing as consumers prioritize clean-label, nutrient-rich options. Petite Palates addresses this demand by offering convenient, savory meals that introduce babies to complex flavors early in life—supporting the development of more adventurous palates.
“Parents want more from baby food today—nutrition, cultural relevance, and clean ingredients,” said Co-Founder Debby Goan. “We’re proud to offer meals that check all the boxes while helping families form healthy habits from the start.”

Petite Palates is certified as a Women Business Enterprise (WBE), Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), and LGBT Business Enterprise (LGBTBE), and is committed to inclusive sourcing and hiring practices.
