Startup CPG Newswire:
DRIZZ (turns a real Texas longhorn into a campaign that secures retail partnership with Dallas landmark, Fuel City)
PRESS RELEASE — NEWS PROVIDED BY Rodrigo Ricaud for Drizz
DALLAS, TX (JULY 2026) — Drizz, a Dallas-based beverage enhancer brand, has secured retail placement at Fuel City, the Dallas convenience-store landmark whose flagship has operated 24 hours a day for more than 20 years, through a marketing-first partnership built around a longhorn, a soccer tournament, and no media budget.
The campaign began when Drizz approached Fuel City, known for street tacos rated the best in Texas by Texas Monthly and for the longhorn cattle on its downtown-adjacent property, with a proposal timed to this summer’s international soccer tournament, which includes matches hosted in Dallas. Since the start of the knockout rounds, a Fuel City longhorn named Buddy has been predicting match winners by choosing between two flag-marked feeders, in short-form videos posted to the brand’s social channels before each match. The campaign concludes July 16 with a live media event at Fuel City Riverfront, where Buddy will select a predicted winner of the July 19 final in front of Dallas press and creators.
The activation was produced in-house without an agency or paid media, and the partnership converted into product placement: Drizz Unflavored Energy Drops are now sold at Fuel City’s Riverfront flagship. For an independent brand, the structure paired earned attention with retail distribution in a single deal.
“Dallas is home, Mexico City is family, and this summer both are hosting the world,” said Rodrigo Ricaud, founder of Drizz. “We could not outspend anyone, so we partnered with the most Dallas place there is and built the campaign around what was already grazing there. The retail placement came with the story.”
Drizz Unflavored Energy Drops contain 65mg of caffeine from green tea extract with L-theanine, packaged as 15 servings in a 2oz bottle with zero sugar, and are designed to be added to water or other beverages. Drizz won a 2025 Walmart Golden Ticket with its Mixer Drops line and has applied to Walmart’s 2026 Open Call with its Unflavored Energy Drops. The brand is distributed through Core-Mark and McLane and is available at Fuel City, on Amazon, at Walmart.com, and at drizzdrops.com.
