Startup CPG Newswire:
Chlorophyll Water Earns Clean Label Project Certification for Fourth Consecutive Year
PRESS RELEASE — NEWS PROVIDED BY Matt Levine for Chlorophyll Water
NEW YORK, NY — Chlorophyll Water, a pioneer of the chlorophyll beverage category, has earned Clean Label Project Certification for the fourth consecutive year, reinforcing its commitment to rigorous third-party testing, product purity and transparency.
In 2022, Chlorophyll Water became the first bottled water in the United States to achieve Clean Label Project Certification, establishing a new standard within the bottled water and functional beverage categories.
The newly issued Certificate of Compliance confirms that Chlorophyll Water’s independently reviewed documentation and testing results meet the requirements of the Clean Label Project Code of Practice.
As part of the certification process, products are independently purchased from retailers and tested by an ISO/IEC 17025-accredited laboratory for chemicals of concern that may not appear on traditional product labels. Testing includes heavy metals such as arsenic, cadmium, lead and mercury; more than 300 pesticide residues, including glyphosate; and plasticizers such as BPA, BPS and phthalates. Testing scope may vary by product category.
“Four consecutive years of certification demonstrate Chlorophyll Water’s continued commitment to transparency, quality assurance and ongoing compliance,” said Molly Hamilton, Executive Director of Clean Label Project. “Certification recognizes products that voluntarily undergo independent testing for industrial and environmental contaminants and meet our rigorous requirements.”
“Becoming the first bottled water in the United States to earn Clean Label Project Certification was incredibly meaningful, but maintaining it year after year is what truly demonstrates our commitment,” said Matt Levine, Founder of Chlorophyll Water. “Consumers deserve greater transparency and confidence in the products they drink every day. Personally, I believe this is one of the most meaningful certifications a brand can achieve.”
