Short Story Electrolytes Earns USDA Organic Certification
PRESS RELEASE — NEWS PROVIDED BY Danielle Nuss for Short Story
DENVER, CO (OCTOBER 2026) – Short Story has earned USDA organic certification for its lemon electrolyte drink mix, including both its 7-serving and 30-serving pouches.
Short Story started with a simple question: Why was it so hard to find an everyday electrolyte made with ingredients you actually recognize?
Co-founder Danielle Nuss began making her own electrolyte mix after taking a closer look at the ingredients in the products she was drinking. What started as a homemade alternative eventually became Short Story, a five-ingredient electrolyte powder made with organic coconut water powder, organic lemon juice powder, organic monk fruit extract, Himalayan pink salt, and magnesium derived from seawater.
“Getting organic certification means a lot to us because we’ve been thoughtful about every ingredient from the very beginning,” said Danielle Nuss, co-founder of Short Story. “We wanted to make something we’d feel good about drinking every day, without a long list of ingredients or things that didn’t need to be there.”
Certified by Natural Food Certifiers under the USDA National Organic Program, Short Story’s lemon electrolyte mix contains no added sugar, stevia, or natural flavors. Its ingredient list is short enough to fit right on the front of the pouch.
Since launching in April 2026, Short Story has been growing through online sales, subscriptions, and the South Pearl Street Farmers Market in Denver, where the founders have connected directly with customers and introduced them to the product.
The brand was also recently named a 2026 Startup CPG Shelfie Award winner in the Hydration category.
With organic certification now in place, Short Story is looking ahead to bringing its electrolytes to more customers and retail shelves.
