Samsāra Nutrition Launches Three South Asian-Inspired Protein Bars

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. (2026) — Samsāra Nutrition has released its first three flavors of South Asian-inspired protein bars: Spiced Chai, Golden Mango and Masala Peanut. The brand was founded by Sravanti Balaji, a former software engineer, who began developing the recipes during her twins’ nap windows after a postpartum chai habit prompted her to look at the protein bar category.

The bars contain 15g of protein, 7g of fiber, 0g of added sugar and are sweetened with allulose and monk fruit. Allulose is a rare sugar that the body does not metabolize as a carbohydrate, and may help moderate post-meal blood sugar response, according to a 2024 meta-analysis of clinical trials in type 2 diabetes patients (1). South Asians develop type 2 diabetes at younger ages and lower BMIs than white Europeans, according to research published in the American Diabetes Association journal Diabetes Care (2). The bars are also seed-oil-free, third-party tested for heavy metals and made at an SQF Level 3 facility.
